Leading for Well Being Consortium

“Leading for Well-Being” represents a consortium of organizations, scholars, faith leaders, business people, media experts, and policy makers seeking to integrate the emerging practice of Humanistic Management with more sustainable practices at the corporate, community and policy levels. Its goal is to enable many of those now driving crisis to become agents of positive and profitable change.

The Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit is helping to lead in this initiative. Chris Laszlo, PhD, associate professor of organizational behavior and faculty director for research and outreach at the Fowler Center and three Distinguished Fellows—Michael Pirson, Hunter Lovins and Andrew Winston—are the lead conveners.

Common Good Economy

Economy for the Common Good is a social movement advocating for an alternative economic model. It calls for working towards the common good and cooperation instead of profit-orientation and competition which lead to greed and uncontrolled growth. Christian Felber coined the term in his book Die Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie – Das Wirtschaftsmodell der Zukunft, published in 2010. According to Felber, it makes much more sense for companies to create a so-called “common good balance sheet” than a financial balance sheet. The common good balance sheet shows the extent to which a company abides by values like human dignity, solidarity and economic sustainability.

The University of Cagliari (Italian: Università degli Studi di Cagliari) is a university in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. It was founded in 1606 and is organized in 11 faculties.

The largest campus of the university s situated in Monserrato, on an area of 73 hectares. It hosts the science faculties, many departments with their respective faculties, and one of the University general hospitals, appropriately integrated with other medical institutions. The other campuses are in a residential area near to the city center and the sea. There are excellent student facilities close at hand including halls of residence, canteens, libraries, museums and sports facilities. The city offers students a wide range of social and cultural activities.

EGADE / Tec de Monterrey, Mexico

The Escuela de Graduados en Administración y Dirección de Empresas — generally translated as Graduate School of Business Administration and Leadership but officially branded as EGADE Business School since 2010 — is the graduate business school of the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM): one of Latin America’s largest private universities and one of the most prestigious business universities in America.

The school is generally ranked among the best in Latin America by most international financial publications (see Rankings) and in 2008 its Monterrey campus became the fourth in the region and the first in Mexico to achieve simultaneous accreditation by the United States’ AACSB, the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the British AMBA. At the time only 34 business schools in the world were holding this ranking.

The Gabelli School of Business is the undergraduate and graduate business schools of Fordham University. The Center for Humanistic Management at the Gabelli School of Business is a research center with active outreach to practice and policy, and a commitment to developing novel pedagogical approaches with a focus on social innovation. The center is part of the Humanistic Management Network, an international, interdisciplinary, independent collective that promotes the development of an economic system with respect for human dignity and well-being.
